Greta Thunberg @ S20 Rally

This video by Peter Eliscu captures Greta Thunberg a few days after she landed by solar sail boat in NYC.  The yacht Malizia II is fitted with solar panels and underwater turbines and so avoids generating carbon dioxide.  For those of you who may not know about her, she’s from Sweden, born in 2003 and has been a climate activist since 2015, calling on her fellow students to gather on “Fridays For The Future”, taking off from school to protest the lack of effective action on climate change.  The action is called:  The School Climate Strike Movement.

She has been invited to speak at the UN Summit on Climate Change this month and nearly every environmental group is following her and hoping that she can bring about her vision.

For more info:  She’s everywhere so just google her name and events that she’ll be attending in NYC and the surrounding area.

It looks like an American version of “Friday Gatherings” will continue possibly in front of the UN, as well as, elsewhere throughout the US.

The family story is recounted in Scenes from the Heart, which was published in 2018.  She published a collection of her climate action speeches, No One Is Too Small to Make a Difference, in May 2019   with the earnings being donated to charity.
