Joe Holzka Community Garden in Staten Island

 

 

This is a video about the Joe Holzka Community Garden in Staten Island, NY showing the lush greenery, abundance of vegetables grown there and the community gardeners who make it all happen. The gardeners capture rainwater, compost their garden waste and use companion planting and vertical planters to increase production. One section of the garden is devoted to growing produce for a local food pantry. The video was submitted to the 2018 Humus Film Festival in Madrid, Spain.  Produced and submitted by Lenny Librizzi.
