Nuclear Convergence : Hudson River Sacrifice Zone

Jeanne and Gary Shaw outline this month’s Stony Point Convergence meeting with a theme of how the Hudson River is now a “sacrificial Zone” due to the confluence of a number of energy projects all being used to get fossil fuels to market in an age when sustainable energies are needed.

The risks of pipelines, compressors, fuel trains, fuel barges, and their proximity to Nuclear Power Plants, along with earthquake faults and larger size pipeline diameters, just aren’t worth the risks of a nuclear accident of any kind.

Other topics include:  the upcoming 6th memorial of the ongoing Fukushima disaster; closing Indian Point thoughts and plans; decommissioning, reaching out and networking with other environmental groups, native american interests and more.
