Nuclear Convergence Cuomo says, Shut It Down!!

 

 

This Convergence Summary with Jeanne Shaw and Gary Shaw focuses on their meeting’s  discussion of:

-The recent deal by Gov Cuomo and others, to shut down the Indian Point nuclear reactors in the next 4 years including the movement of used spent nuclear fuel and its storage

-An update on Gov. Cuomo’s nuclear subsidy “tax” and the “article 78” legal action against the tax

-The upcoming 6th anniversary of the Fukushima nuclear disaster.  The Convergence will be holding a full day of activities on  Saturday, March 11, in the Indian Point area

-On the need for specific actions to show solidarity with local oil and gas anti-pipeline groups, as well as, others throughout the US

-An update of a rally/demonstration by Convergence members at Purchase College by the entrance to Gov. Cuomo’s State of the State’s address

-A bit more of what is expected to happen at this year’s Fukushima day-long event:  Peace March, presentations, topics, food,….
