On July 17, 2012 the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in a rare 3-2 vote, approved a project by the Millennium Pipeline Company to construct a gas compressor station in a residential area of Minisink, NY.

On May 1, 2014, a group of Minisink Residents was represented at the U.S. Court of Appeals in a effort to overturn that split decision.
