EMISSIONS: Images From The Mixing Layer (art exhibition)

This exhibition at The Cooper Union, NYC, runs until November 8, 2013. It is based on a scientific study initiated by the curators and carried out by Gas Safety Inc. under the auspices of Damascus Citizens for Sustainability. The study consisted in measuring the fugitive gas emissions–gas pipeline leaks–from 160 miles of roadways in Manhattan in 2012. The findings from that study presented in a graphic form show that the island is enveloped in a cloud of methane. A panel discussion will be held on Wednesday, October 30,2013 to discuss the implications of the study.
