On July 20, 2013, as part of the annual City of Water Day in NYC, several groups gathered on Governors Island to test their mettle at building and then navigating boats made of cardboard . A race comprised of 3 “heats” and a medal round was held culminating in a Grand Prize for the winner. A prize was also awarded for the Best Dressed Boat.
